The bride's occupation is “dog walking” in Manhattan. The couple wanted to emphasize their love of animals by including a replica of their pet cat and dog in the cake decoration. I used a “traditional” bride and groom topper, and added an “untraditional” cat and dog as well. The chocolate cake was covered with fondant icing, decorated with sugar paste ivy, lavendar calla lilies, and cream colored roses - repeating the theme of the reception flowers.

The bride's favorite flowers were violets. To showcase them on the large wedding cake, I framed them individually on the sides in pale green diamond outlines. The icing was fondant, and the sugar paste flowers on the top of the cake were pink and cream roses, lavender sweet peas, and ivy, which repeated the choice of the wedding flowers.

This cake was a combination of a round base tier and scalloped shaped tiers. The flowers, which matched the flowers in the bride's bouquet, included dendrobium, phalaenopsis, cattleya orchids, calla lilies, oriental lilies, and ivy.
