The bride and groom for this cake live in Alaska, so many of the scenes I painted on the pastillage plaques were based on photos of Alaskan scenes, including Mt. McKinley. The couple's dog and cat were featured in the middle scene. The icing was fondant, and the sugar flowers reflected the summer garden where the reception was held.

This couple desired a very clean look for their cake, with sugar flowers on the top and rosettes highlighting the lace. The butter cream lace reflected the lace in the bride's dress. The frosting was made of butter cream.

For this wedding, the bride's bouquet consisted of calla lilies, which she wanted replicated in sugar flowers on the top of the cake. The color theme was peach, and the swags and bows reflected the style of her dress.

The wonderful pergola on top of the cake was a special request of the bride and groom. The groom had built a similar one for their garden, and they wanted a miniature version for their cake topper. I attached ribbon streamers between the first and second layers to special wedding charms for the bridesmaids. Fondant icing covered the cake, and the sugar roses and hydrangeas were similar to the reception flowers.
