This
was one of two cakes made for a party of 200 to celebrate the couple's
50th wedding anniversary. The icing was fondant, and the sugar
paste flowers on the top were all replicas of flowers, some very rare,
that were grown in the many gardens on the couple's property. The pastillage
plaques, which could be saved, showed 50 years of marriage and included
family pictures, scenes from New York and Canada, and every dog the couple
had ever owned.

This
delightful cake, created for a baby shower, had sugar paste loops and
streamers, which added to the happy, festive atmosphere of the shower.
The icing was buttercream.

An
elegant Christmas Day dinner required an unusual cake. The shiny surface
was created with a poured chocolate glaze icing. White chocolate Herald
Angels on the side and white chocolate stars on top
completed the magical theme.

This
cake was for a girl's Sweet Sixteen birthday, which was in the spring.
Her mother had filled her garden with pansies, so I replicated the pansy
theme with buttercream pansies on the top. The icing was also buttercream.
