Dogs have birthdays, too! These loving dog owners celebrate their two dogs' birthdays every year with a party inviting many dogs (and their masters). The chocolate cake (for the masters) had a white chocolate glaze icing with with sugar cookie “bone” decorations. Special healthy dog treats were made for all the dogs.
A
91st birthday celebration needed a special cake for a woman
who was for many years the Master of the Hunt in Millbrook, NY. I painted
the hunting scene with food color on a pastillage plaque. The icing
was buttercream.
This
special cake designed for a summer engagement party had an elegant bow,
which covered the top of the cake. I created the sugar paste bow, edged
in red, so that it could be lifted in one piece from the
cake and saved.
This cake was for a surprise Bon Voyage party for a couple who was retiring and moving to Hawaii. I painted the tropical scenes with food color on pastillage plaques and made the orchid flower lei around the top out of sugar paste. The icing was fondant.
